A Journey to Multnomah Falls: The Beginning of Solitude Brewing

When we set out to bring Solitude Brewing to life, it wasn’t just about beer—it was about creating something inspired by the beauty of nature and the spirit of exploration. During one of the most pivotal trips in our journey, we traveled to Portland, Oregon, to pick up the brewing equipment that would bring our dream to reality. But before heading back east, we took a moment to soak in the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

One rainy afternoon, we found ourselves hiking through the lush Columbia River Gorge to Multnomah Falls. Towering at 620 feet, this two-tiered waterfall is nothing short of magical. Standing at the base, with the iconic Benson Bridge above, we were reminded of how small we are in the vastness of nature, and yet, how every drop of water plays its part in creating something extraordinary.

The rain didn’t dampen the experience—it enhanced it. The mist from the falls mixed with the cool drizzle, creating an atmosphere that felt alive and electric. It was a moment to pause, reflect, and draw inspiration. That day, we realized that Solitude Brewing would not just be a brewery—it would be a celebration of the natural world, the adventures we take, and the connections we make along the way.

The photo you see in our taproom captures the very essence of that trip: the power, beauty, and serenity of Multnomah Falls. Every time we look at it, we’re reminded of where we started and why we brew—to share moments like these with you.
